As we had mentioned in the post on our first day in Bangkok (you can see our itinerary here to visit Bangkok on a family trip), we visited two of the most famous attractions of the city, namely Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) to Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).
Although these attractions are very close, they are separated by the Chao Praya River, and for those who arrive there for the first time, this may not be an easy crossing.
However, with the right information, you will see that is quick and easy to go, and very fun for those who travel with children, because it is rare for a children to don't like to travel by boat.
Therefore, we would like to share our experience, in the hope of helping you to make this crossing quickly, for you to make the most of your time in Bangkok on your family trip.

After you get out of the Wat Pho Temple, to reach your new destination, you have to take a short walk to the Tha Tien Pier (Pier 8), (less than 200 meters distance).
You can see here on Google maps the path you will have to take. Don't worry about finding yourself on a path full of commerce on both sides, it may seem impossible to be on the way to a dock, but that's the correct way, you're on the right path if you're surrounded by vendors.
When you arrive at the pier, you will find on your right side a ticket office, in which you must leave 4 BAHT per person (including children). If you take money already changed, it makes the process easier, because you will see that everything happens very quickly.
Although it is relatively safe, take care of the children at the time of entry and, for people with reduced mobility and if you are taling your son on a stroller, it may be more difficult to get into the boat, so be careful.
The boat does not stay very long at the pier and, after a few minutes to collect the passengers, will embark on a quick trip (about 5 minutes) that will take you across the river.
Wat Arun
After the short trip, as Wat Arun is just on your left side (entrance is 100 BAHT and is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).
Return
After visiting one of the most beautiful temples in Bangkok, to return to the other side of the river, just go back to the place where the boat left you on your first trip. Pay again the 4 BAHT and take the boat, nothing easier and faster.
