Tips for Traveling With Kids

Itinerary

1- Ground Zero - WTC Memorial

2- One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower)

3- New York City Hall

4- Brooklyn Bridge

5- D.U.M.B.O.

6- Trinity Church

7- Wall Street

8- Staten Island Ferry and Statue of Liberty

9- Katz's Delicatessen

On our third day, we drove to the most southern part of Manhattan and start with something that raises recent pains around the world, namely leaving on the subway next to Ground Zero - WTC Memorial.

Ground Zero - WTC Memorial

This memorial of the World Trade Center, in memory of the victims of 9/11, is beautifully done, beautiful, and a form of demonstration of unique respect in the world.
It is located in the place where the Twin Towers used to be, and it is incredible to go through that space and feel the enormous respect for the weight of recent history. A beautiful place but that leaves the open heartache of innocent people who lost their lives on 9/11.

Besides the WTC Memorial, there is also the National Museum of September 11, which we did not visit. If you want to know more information about prices and times of the Museum, you can consult his site HERE.

One World Trade Center (Freedom Tower)

Something we also did not visit inside was the Freedom Tower, again for economic reasons (we chose the Empire State Building, as you can see on our first day in New York by clicking HERE).
But this building is really impressive. In addition to being the tallest building in the United States of America, it is one of the tallest and, very beautiful indeed, being impressive to admire it from below. With a blue day and full of light, like what we were lucky to have, it was wonderful to see.

Although we have not done it, it does not mean that you do not do it, and many people we've talked to even recommend that you go up to the observatory, where you can have 360-degree views of New York City.
It is true that it is not cheap, especially for those traveling with family like us but, whoever recommended it very much. We also recommend that you buy tickets online in advance to avoid queues. You can see HERE the official website to see prices, schedules and, if you wish, to buy the tickets online.

Another issue that we did not know at the time of our trip, which could be very good for saving money, is the possibility of, on Tuesdays, on Priceless's website (click here to see) to buy two tickets for the price of one, what results in huge savings of money.

New York City Hall

When we think of New York City Hall there is a tendency to imagine something huge, grand, like many of the buildings in this city. But in this case, despite being a very beautiful building, it is not grandiose, and in the midst of so many skyscrapers, it even becomes small.

However, despite not being majestic, it is a very beautiful building, with amis of 200 years and which is a historical landmark of the city and the country. We did not see the interior but the exterior is very beautiful and is right next to the Brooklyn Bridge, our next goal of this family trip.

See this cool video (not ours) to find more about the tour.
Around New York City Hall has a delightful garden, where we took some time to relax after crossing the Brooklyn Bridge in two directions.

Brooklyn Bridge

Anyone who wants can do this subway crossing and just return from Brooklyn to New York and enjoy the city skyline but, we wanted to make the crossing on foot in both directions.
This bridge is beautiful! Famous for having already been the stage of several films, this 1883 league joins the districts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. At the time of its inauguration, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world, and its towers were the tallest buildings in New York. Today, this bridge captivates by its beauty and fascination, and is another of the experiences you can not miss on your trip to New York and has the benefit of being completely free.

If you want, as was our case, to walk both ways, get ready to walk about 4 kms and, if it is the case of a family trip, baby strooler will work, as was our case.

D.U.M.B.O.

When arriving in Brooklyn, we recommend that you do not make your return journey immediately. Instead, take a look at the Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass (D.U.M.B.O.). This area, which is underneath the Brooklyn Bridge, will allow you a beautiful view of Manhattan but your interest is not only left out, it is very worthwhile to discover the contrast between the old and the modern that installs each more in this area of the city.
It was here that, overlooking the city, we decided to buy food and have a picnic overlooking Manhattan.

Trinity Church

After our return through the Brooklyn Bridge and a well-deserved rest in the park next to City Hall, we headed towards Wall Street but first we passed Trinity Church.
This beautiful church makes more of an impact by staying where it is, next to the hectic world of Wall Street. It has a very beautiful architecture on the outside and inside is also beautiful, although we liked the exterior more. The curious thing is that, next door has a cemetery, which you can visit, something that we just saw from the outside.

Wall Street

Another stroll you can not miss while strolling through New York is walking through your Financial Center. This is another activity you can do for free in New York and what a unique feeling. In fact, this is what the city conveys to us, several unique and special sensations, and here you will feel the power, the ostentation of being in the biggest financial center in the world and, just imagine the millions that are being negotiated with you is something that will perplex you.
It's worth taking a stroll through the middle of the buildings here, but of course do not forget to stop by the Federal Hall, located just in front of the New York Stock Exchange building. This is where George Washington was sworn in as president of the United States when New York was the capital of the United States of America. You will see that it is not difficult to find the place, because you will find there the statue of George Washington on the staircase of the building.
Another experience you will want to do, however strange it may seem, is to run your hand through the balls of the Charging Bull. It's really weird but, they say it's lucky, and as luck is something that never hurts, we went to the queue to wait for our turn for this very unusual experience.

Staten Island Ferry and the Statue of Liberty

Finished our tour, we wanted to see another of the major brand images of New York, and all of America: the Statue of Liberty. And, in this case too, we came across the traditional monetary and temporal issues, which went through the decision whether or not to go up to the Statue of Liberty.
To make this decision, we have tried to read and reread the maximum amount of information and experiences of other travelers and, although many people love the visit and climb to the Statue of Liberty, we also saw many people complaining about the huge waiting time and, some disillusionment with the visit as a whole. As for this case, we ended up not being able to give our opinion, because here too we took advantage of lower some costs in our trip with family and, instead of going up to the Statue, we just pass next to it on the boat.

And here is some wonderful news, is that you can make this delightful boat trip, next to the Statue of Liberty totally free! Let's tell you how you can accomplish it.

So the way you can board the Statue of Liberty for free is by using the Staten Island Ferry, which leaves every half hour (see the exact location on Google Maps from where you can take the Ferry).
Well, to use this free means of transportation, there is not much to be told, as it is easy, fast and cheap. To do so, you only have to go to the designated location, but prepare, as you approach your destination, you will be approached by vendors who claim to be selling "the true tour of the Statue of Liberty."

It is true that, through this option, you will not be able to visit the Island of Liberty and Ellis Island, where the Immigration Museum is located and which was the port of entry for thousands of immigrants in America. In this free option, you will only pass by the Statue of Liberty but, it is a wonderful tour.

After we were sympathetically grateful but rejected the various offerings from the vendors, we arrived at the embarkation place, where many people pile up but, as we easily noticed, the boat is large and has several options to sit and rest throughout the trip. Here we leave the tip, when you leave Manhattan, try to sit on the right side of the boat, as you will have the best views of the Statue of Liberty, doing the opposite on your return trip. However, the ride from Manhattan to Staten Island passes closer to the Statue of Liberty and it is on this route that you will have the best photo opportunities.
Another tip that we could not fail to give is also linked to the possibility of taking photographs, especially of New York City as it moves away in the water. For this you will have to route to the back of the ferry and take advantage of taking fantastic pictures of the city. Also, in this part of the boat there is no glass, which allows you to take the best photographs also of the Statue of Liberty.
Finally, another tip that has to do with the time of the trip. We did not intend to stroll around Staten Island, just use the Ferry to stroll along the Statue of Liberty, so after the first trip (which took about 25 minutes), we intended to return to Manhattan again. We were able to catch the return boat immediately upon our arrival, so it was given to maximize the time of not having to wait another 30 minutes. But, if you want to do this, we suggest that, before the boat stops, approach near the nearest exit and go directly to the place of embarkation (next door). If you go fast, it is possible, if not, you will have to wait about 30 minutes for the next boat.

Schedules
As we mentioned, the ferry trip is free, roughly every 30 minutes throughout the day and the journey takes about 25 minutes. If you want to know more about the schedules, see HERE.

Address of the terminal:
Whitehall Terminal located at 4 South Street, Manhattan

Katz's Delicatessen

As the day drew to a close, we had to look for where to have dinner, and we had already planned where to eat this meal, which was the place known for the best pastrami sandwiches in New York. For those who do not know, pastrami is a lean, seasoned lean beef that is very popular in America, and Katz's Deli pastrami sandwiches are by far the best in New York.

This historic establishment, which has been operating since 1888, has always been one of the landmarks of its zone and, at the moment, of the whole city but it was probably one of the best romantic movies ever made famous in the world. The movie we are referring to is "When Harry Met Sally" and, in particular, the famous scene of feigned orgasm with Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal.
Well we wanted to know the space and know the food, and we are obliged to say that we loved it !! It is true that you will have to deal with a queue to get in (after all, we did not wait long, about 15 minutes). But, the service is very cordial, all very friendly. The place is full of history and it makes you feel like it would be in old New York.

The size of pastrami sandwiches is huge (they are not cheap either, must say) but, it is a delicious taste, totally different from the meat we are used to eating in Portugal. It comes with pickles and mustard, which makes a perfect combination.
Briefly, we strongly recommend the visit to this place, if not for the passion for the movies, that is for the food and environment, because you will love everything.

You can see on their OFFICIAL SITE more information about prices, times and address.

After this wonderful dinner, we finished our day and headed to the hotel. Tomorrow would be another day of adventure.
We hope you enjoy our itinerary for the third day in New York. If you want, you can see our fourth day of our family trip in New York by clicking HERE.

Do not forget to leave your comment and recommend our Non Stop Family blog, we would love to know your opinion and feedback.

Our Itinerary

1- Madison Avenue e Chrysler Building

2- Columbus Circle and Trump International Hotel and Tower New York

3- Dakota Building and Strawberry Fields

4- American Museum of Natural History of New York

5- Lunch at Shake Shack

6- Central Park

7- The Solomon Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Arts

8- Grand Central Terminal

For our second day, we had booked for our son a huge surprise. Well, it was not surprising, because she already knew what we were going to, but it was for him without doubt the main reason to come to America, we refer to our visit to the American Museum of Natural History of New York.

To make this visit, we woke up very early, something easier due to the time difference with Europe, which naturally led us to wake up very early.

So, after we had our breakfast, we walked to the American Museum of Natural History in New York. From our hotel to the Museum were about 4 kms walk but, what we wanted was to even walk the streets of New York as it was what we loved the most. More than the most famous attractions of the city, we love just strolling mixed in the crowd. Of course, it helped to carry the stroller for our son, whenever he wished to rest, he could sit down and take a nap, because the days were intense but full of fun.

Madison Avenue and Chrysler Building

This time we opted to stroll along Madison Avenue, which is parallel to 5th Avenue but not as impressive but worth seeing. What attracted us most was the Chrysler Building, to which we did not go up (it's not possible) but we took the opportunity to observe from below and, until entering your hall, what you can do for free and have access there to information about your construction.
This building is one of the hallmarks of the city, and although it is not the tallest building in the city (it was only the tallest in the world about a year, until being overtaken by the Empire State Building), it is undoubtedly impressive and, very cute. As it was a sunny day, it was even more beautiful.

After this brief visit, we continued north to our 59th street, right next to Central Park, past the Trump Tower, which is not one of the most impressive in New York.

Columbus Circle and Trump International Hotel and Tower

Probably staying at the hotel will be a great experience but, regarding the building itself, its exterior, we cannot say that it was the one that impressed us most on our trip through New York. Right next door is the Columbus Circle which, it is a rotunda, beautiful but, nothing special.
We do not know if it is because we have not seen more rotundas in Manhattan that they consider this so special but, we also do not recommend that here come just to see the roundabout. However, as it is very well situated and is one of the gateways to Central Park, you will probably come here and be sure to take your photos.

Dakota Building and Strawberry Fields

Next to Columbus Circle, we entered Central Park but our goal was not to explore the park yet as we wanted to head for the American Museum of Natural History. Strolling through Central Park in the morning was delightful, seeing the people running in the morning, the serenity and of course the squirrels, who left our son full of joy, because in Portugal it is rare to see them.

But our walk through Central Park to the American Museum of Natural History had an intermediate purpose, which was to visit the Strawberry Fields as well as see the famous Dakota Building, though famous for negative reasons. As you may know, it was at this building that John Lennon was murdered by Chapman on the evening of 8 December 1980.
This tragic event has forever marked the world of music, and one can not but look at this building with sadness, so we did not take too long our presence with him. Already totally different is the feeling of arriving next to Strawberry Fields, a memorial in Central Park right next to the building. And here it seems that you breathe peace and love. On the floor you will find a mosaic of stones, well in Portuguese, with the inscription Imagine right in the center, and it is frequent to have musicians playing and singing Beatles songs.

The people around them seemed to be in communion, to celebrate the inheritance of peace and love that John Lennon sought to leave in the world. This feeling was one of the best of our visit and New York and, we recommend, be sure to visit this space, we really believe you will love it.

American Museum of Natural History of New York

Our son was already getting anxious, because what he really wanted was to go to the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and that was our next destination, finally.
This museum is HUGE. It will probably be impossible to see everything with the care you deserve in a single day, so you will probably have to make choices. For our son, the ultimate goal was to see the animals and dinosaurs, and it was from that perspective that we guided our visit. We also think that these are probably the highlights of the visit. You can also visit the temporary exhibition and the planetarium, whose entrance is paid separately.
For us, the great highlights of the exhibition were the dinosaur wing, amazing collection they have but we also loved seeing the planets and meteors, Lucy's skeleton and of course the huge and beautiful blue whale suspended.

Price
Well, as for the tickets, they start from $ 23USD for adults and $ 13USD for children for the general exhibition, where you can see the 45 Halls of the exhibition. However, there is the possibility of adding one or more activities to this tour, which will increase the price of the visit (For more detailed information, see HERE and purchase your tickets online).

But, there is one question, which is as follows. There is no obligation to pay the ticket as a whole. This information we discovered before we made our trip and although we were not sure of the reason, we read that it would be because the grounds for the Museum were given the condition of being able to offer a cultural service to its visitors and, thus, not being so in need of the charged at the entrance.

Therefore, if you don't want to pay the ticket in full, you will have to buy your ticket at the ticket counter, this option is not possible online. Then the real question is, how much to pay?

Let's be honest, the trip to NYC, for our budget, was expensive and of course we were in the mood to save on everything we wanted. However, we also know the importance of museums and the need to have funds to maintain and improve their activity, so we did not want to go almost free. Briefly, we wanted to pay a price that we considered fair, even because we would not see the whole museum, because certain parts would be less interesting for our son.
So, we decided to pay $40 USD for the three (two adults and one child). It allowed us to save some money (which we would end up spending in a snack in the Museum cafe, which is very good) but we did not disrespect the Museum, which we considered wonderful! Unmissable. It was total madness for our son, from the time we walked in until we left. For anyone traveling with kids to NYC, this is definitely a place to go, we love it.

As we mentioned, we lunched inside the Museum and this is another good quality of the museum, as there is a huge food court there, as well as three well-located cafes and several bathrooms, which is always important on a trip with children.

Address:
American Museum of Natural History
Central Park West and 79th St, New York City, NY 10024

Schedules:
The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5.45 p.m., only closes on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Lunch at Shake Shack

Something we had already read and wanted to try was a meal at Shake Shack. Unfortunately, their hamburgers have not yet arrived in Portugal, but when reading about what to eat in New York, there were several people who said they had adored them, so we wanted to try and give our opinion, which
I must say is fantastic so much so that we ate there again during our stay. There are already several Shake Shack in Manhattan (you can HERE the map), there is a short walk to the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
We had read that the queues could be large but, perhaps because we arrived a little late (around 2pm), although it was very crowded, the waiting time was not great and it was relatively quick to get a table to sit down. This may be one with advice, avoid the hectic hours, because there queues and waiting time can make your meal less pleasurable.

As for what we choose, everything we ate was very good but even though we are not vegetarians, we also tried the veggie burger from Shake Shack and are forced to say it was the best we have ever eaten. And the potatoes with cheese, simply divine.

Another good point is that given the quality of the food, which is by many ranked as one of the best places to eat, prices are relatively affordable, allowing you to have a delicious meal and keep within your budget.
Address:
Shake Shack, 366 Columbus Avenue, New York, NY 10024

Central Park

After a good lunch, we were relaxing and strolling through Central Park, which is huge !!! It was perfect because, our son fell asleep during the ride, slept a good nap and still woke up in time to enjoy the park and delight once again with the squirrels.
We recommend that, in addition to Strawberry Fields, take the opportunity to see the Belvedere Castle in Central Park, stroll along the Great Lawn and get to know the Shakespeare Garden which is just off 79th Street.

Also in Central Park you can visit the famous Zoo of the film Madagascar, which all children have seen. Unfortunately for anyone visiting New York in 5 days, you cannot do everything and this option we had to leave for a second trip but we really enjoyed the walk through the park, and our son delighted to play in one of the playgrounds we found.

The Solomon Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Arts

When we talked about the choices, the other two we were forced to undertake were, for lack of time, not to visit the Solomon Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. We only took time to see their facades, which are next to Central Park, on 5th Avenue. Many people will probably not agree with our choices, which we do not say are the best to do but there is so much to see and do in New York that it is not possible to accomplish everything, both time and financially.
If you want to know more about the museums, we leave the links to The Solomon Guggenheim Museum (CLICK HERE) and to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts (CLICK HERE). In them you can access more information about the schedules and prices.
In regard to the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, the same rule applies to the Museum of Natural History, Pay what you want. That is, it is up to you to pay what you want/can pay.

Grand Central Terminal

On our way to the Hotel, we got to know better the Grand Central Terminal (we had already admired it from outside).
And if outside the station is beautiful, inside is even more. We have all seen this season several times in countless films, and the children have also seen it in one of Madagascar's films and it is worth knowing, no doubt.
While strolling through it, it is impossible not to focus on watching the 4-sided clock in the center of the station, which is the station's famous meeting point. The ceiling is wonderful, an astronomical mural, which is a project of the French painter Paul Helleu and represents the sky seen in the Mediterranean between March and October, with more than 2500 stars !!!! Of these stars, the 60 largest are illuminated by fiber optics.

We also enjoyed strolling along the two stairways of the station, which are on opposite sides, and go see the lamps that are on both sides of the main hall and the Vanderbilt Hall, which for many years were thought to be made of copper but after a real cleaning, were discovered to be of gold. The entire building, over 100 years old, retains the exuberance and glamor of the time, which is a charm in the middle of New York, all in perfect condition.
The reason for our visit to the Grand Central Terminal at the end of the day was not solely due to the desire to see the station but also to ally dinner. At this station, in addition to the expensive Oyster Bar and Restaurant, there is also a large food court, used by many New Yorkers to buy their dinner before heading home, and that is exactly what we did, to explore this area of buy our dinner, and finish the day eating in our hotel room as it had been a huge day, and there was a lot to walk the next day.

Do not forget to take a stroll around the market and the many shops that exist there.

We left only three interesting tips. The first is that, near Vanderbilt Hall, you can find an area called a Whispering Gallery, where two people, each one on their side, can hear each other perfectly even in a low voice.

The second tip is that the Grand Central Terminal offers a free guided tour every Friday at 12.20pm, which will allow you to get to know this attraction guided by local teachers for 90 minutes. To do so, be sure to be before the start time in the lower corner of the Whitney Museum lobby and then proceed to one of the two groups that you usually organize.

Lastly, the third tip is that if you want to shop at the Apple store instead of at the 5th Avenue store, often fuller, you can do it at the Apple store in Grand Central Terminal, which is often much less full.
We hope you enjoyed our itinerary for the second day in New York. If you want, you can see our third day of our family trip in New York by clicking HERE.

Don’t forget to also leave your comment and to recommend our Non Stop Family blog, we would love to know your opinion and feedback.

Traveling to North America was always a dream, and the greatest of all dreams was to visit the Big Apple, New York. When we get the chance to do it, we reserved 6 nights to this family trip, which corresponded to 5 full days.

New York is huge and full of attractions, so this trip required a lot of planning and organization. As we travel as a family, we always try to organize our trips a little, so that we can get to know our destination to the fullest, and also make the trip as pleasant as possible for our son.

To make the most of our time, we did an exhaustive hotel search so that we were well located and not too expensive. Of course, talking about extremely expensive hotel is always difficult when it comes to New York because it is generally a city with high prices.

After extensive research, we chose to stay at the NH New York Jolly Madison Towers Hotel, East 38th Street, New York, NY, USA (you can see it HERE on TripAdvisor page). We were very pleased with our choice. Although we chose a double room, the room was quite large and the bed huge, which allowed us a great stay.

So, we will share our itinerary and experience, hoping it might be a help when planning your family trip to New York.

So, for our first day, these were our goals:

1- 5th avenue
2- Korean Town
3- New York Public Library
4- Bryant Park
5- Macy's
6- Empire State Building
7- Times Square

5th avenue

One of our goals were to walk the most on foot. In Portugal, we have no skyscrapers, and this was our chance to get lost in the middle of New York, and that was how we spent the first hours of the day, just strolling through the buildings and marveling at the 5th avenue. Needless to say we were automatically in love with the city.

This is the ideal avenue to shop but, the prices are high so, we were only for the views, because the stores of the big brands are above our "ideal" shopping value. However, only the tour is delicious and, in contrast to these expensive shops, there are others that are the ideal places to carry out your small shoppings and souvenirs.

Korean Town

Close to the Empire State Building, it is in Korean Town and this was our chosen destination for lunch. Everyone in the family is a fan of Asian food and this was without a doubt one of the best meals (so much so that we went back to Korean Town for another meal).

An idea that we would like to leave in relation to meals. When we go to a restaurant in Portugal, the price of the dish is often reduced, but at the price of the same, it adds the cost of the entrees, the drink, the dessert, which ends up making the meal more expensive. In this and the different meals we had in New York, we found that no one asked us if we wanted anything more than a dish and that there was no problem in drinking our water throughout the meal.

So in this way, we can say that at the budget level, meals in New York were not very expensive and we tried to have as many gastronomic experiences as we could, and we really had great (good) surprises.

New York Public Library

We love books and, since the birth of our son, we have tried to convey this taste to him, so a visit to a library is always something to his liking, as well as his parents and this is a beautiful library that you have to do part of any itinerary in New York, with or without children.

From its monumental entrance, protected by lions (which our son loved), everything is imposing and graceful. Then the part of the children's library did the wonders to our son, so we spent a good part of the day on his farm.

Bryant Park

Just behind the Library, which is on 6th avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets, you will find Bryant Park. And this delightful park, surrounded by buildings, manages to bring calm in the midst of the bustle, which makes it perfect to rest and watch the inhabitants of New York.

In the summer, this is one of the favorite places to play games, have coffee or just sit on the grass, something that we also did and it was just great. In the summer, it’s usual to pass free movies at night, check it before you travel, it may be the perfect scenario for one night in New York.

Macy's

Next we went to visit Macy's, known for being the largest store in the world. Despite our visit, we felt that it was not possible to get an idea of the immensity of this logo, because it is really immense !! Although we do not advise a full visit, especially for those who travel with children, we recommend the visit.

Empire State Building

Then, as the end of the day approached, we headed for one of the great goals of our visit, the ascent to the Empire Estate Building. Of course throughout the day we could admire its facade of the floor but, we were desirous to rise.

Luckily, when we got there, the queue was not very large, as opposed to the fear we had of huge queues due to the comments we had read on the internet. That being said, the entrance was quick and the view stunning.

We loved this view. It was the only skyscraper we climbed during our trip, just for economic reasons but we found it perfect.

To save time, you can buy the tickets online (click HERE to find out more), which will allow you to advance directly to the entry queue. Tickets are valid for up to one year from the date of purchase and the building is open every day from 08:00 to 02:00.

In the purchase of your ticket you are entitled to an interactive multimedia tour which will allow you to know the history of the building better and you can find the different languages available: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese, Japanese and Korean.
At the time of purchasing the ticket, you have two options, the most usual, going to the 86th floor or, more expensive, go to the 86th and 102nd floors. In our case, we stayed for the 86th, also for financial reasons.

Price
86º floor:
Adult - $ 37 Child - $ 31 Senior - $ 35

86º and 102º floor:
Adult - $ 57 Child - $ 51 Senior - $ 55
(we always ask to confirm the prices on the official sites, as they may be outdated, and you can also get some promotions that are more advantageous).

Address:
20 W 34th St, New York, NY 10001, USA

Times Square

For the rest of the first day (and it was already a great day), we drove to Times Square, making a mandatory stop to eat dinner which was a huge and delicious pizza, something we at home loved and we were not disappointed at all .

Getting to Times Square is crazy !! We were flooded with colors, lights sounds!!! Even a real madness, which we always dreamed of living, but we did not stay long because it also turns out to be an excess of stimulation for our son.

We still intended to stroll Broadway on our first night, and it was a perfect way to finish the day.

It was not our goal to watch any play, the ones we wanted to see we could not watch with our son. If you would like to see any Broadway play, we invite you to click here and check this post from Katie, who, on the Creative Travel Guide blog, provides fabulous tips for getting Broadway tickets at the best prices.

And so we closed our first day in New York and went for the hotel. Just one thing, we were already in love with New York! And it was only our first day.
