As we mentioned earlier in the post about our first day in Tokyo, our stay in Tokyo corresponded to 5 nights but it was actually 4 days because on the first day we arrived already at night and on the fifth day, we left early in the morning. This early departure would be held at Narita airport (we arrived at Haneda) and it raised us a problem, which was how to get there early from the airport from downtown Tokyo (our hotel was in the Kanda area).
Unlike Haneda Airport, which is close to the center of Tokyo, Narita Airport is in the Chiba area, about 60 km from the center of Tokyo and the public transport journey takes at least an hour to reach the destination.
As a taxi ride in Tokyo is not cheap, we were forced to make this trip by public transport and, to get to the airport by 7am would be a very difficult process to do, especially for those who, like us, travel in family, with a 7 years old child.
As we didn't want to start a long trip being forced to wake up at dawn, we decided that on the last night we would be staying at a hotel in Narita, with an airport transfer. And, we have to admit that this was the best solution.
So, our last day in Tokyo had the peculiarity of having the trip to Narita. But before that trip, we still tried to make the most of the day, and the first step was going to Senso-Ji Temple.

1- Senso-Ji Temple
The Senso-ji Temple is one of the "brand images" of Tokyo and probably the most famous temple of the city, and the oldest, and our day began with that visit.
And this is undoubtedly a beautiful temple, impressive, whit free entrance but, we are forced to say that also the busiest and noisy that we visited in Tokyo, which didn't allow us to properly appreciate the beauty of the place. The charm and peace that we felt in other temples are hard to be felt there, which left us a little disappointed with the visit, despite being a beautiful place to visit.
2- Nakamise Dori
In the immediate vicinity of the Temple is Nakamise Dori Street, where you can find various shops selling typical Japanese items. It is a good walk to do and we ended up having lunch in this area but, it is a more tourist-oriented place and different from what we feel most of the time in Tokyo.
3- Asahi Beer Hall
Next, we went to visit the outside of the Asahi Beer Hall (also known as Super Dry Hall or Flamme d'Or). This building is one of the headquarters of the Asahi Breweries, which is located along the Sumida River. Designed by French designer Philippe Starck and, completed in 1989, it is one of the most well-known modern buildings in Tokyo.
We only saw the exterior of the building but, it is possible to know the interior and even sample local beers. You can find out more information by consulting the official website here.
4- Tokyo Sky Tree
Another of Tokyo's most well-known modern structures is the Tokyo Sky Tree, and although it wasn't in our plans to climb, we took the opportunity to see it closely.

5- Ueno Park
After this visit, we took the subway to visit Ueno Park in Taito. This park is famous for the Hanani festivities when the Japanese and thousands of tourists come together to contemplate the cherry blossoms.
The cherry blossoms is an event that occurs in the spring period and unfortunately didn't coincide with the period of our family trip to Tokyo. But nevertheless, it's a park that deserves your visit at any time of the year. Within its perimeter, there is the famous Ueno Zoo, that children's love, and several museums (paid entrance), but strolling through the garden is free and not to be missed in your family trip to Tokyo.

6- Narita
After the visit to the park, we took the train to Narita, whose station is right next to one of the entrances to the park. In particular, we took Keisei Ueno Station to Kensei Line in the direction of Narita, on a train journey of about 1h30, which allows you to see the surroundings of Tokyo.
7- Narita-San Shinsho-Ji Temple
After leaving the bags at our hotel and, to enjoy the last hours in Japan, we went to visit the Narita-San Shinsho-Ji Temple, that is more than 1000 years old!
The Narita-San Shinsho-Ji
Temple was a great surprise because it was not part of our initial plans and, we
didn't know what to expect. And, this is a really huge, impressive temple, and
we do not know how it usually is, but as we went there at the end of the day, we had space practically for us, the reason why it was possible to appreciate all the
beauty and peace of it. We loved and it was a great surprise for the end of our
trip to Tokyo. The next day would be destined to catch a plane and travel.
