Our road trip was almost ending and, after a quick breakfast at the hotel, we drive straight to Reykjavik, to enjoy the city for some hours and have lunch there.
And for lunch, we have a special advice. We allways love to eat were locals go and, searching online we discover a place to eat that exactly that, were locals go to eat. Usually, we run from food in bus stations, I have to admit, that is one of the less desirable places I can think to eat but, the BSI Cafetaria here, in Reykjavik station is something different.
To start, it’s one of the best places to eat a very traditional plate, the sheep´s head, if you have the courage to do it (we didn’t have it). But, besides the sheep´s head, there’s always 3/4 traditional plates that are great and, at great prices for Iceland. And, the doses are huge!! Its almost impossible to eat it all.

Bridge between Continents- After Lunch, we went for the Bridge between Continents. That’s a pretty cool place, in Sandvik. This is a is a small footbridge over a major fissure which provides clear evidence of the presence of a diverging plate margin and, it connects Eurasian and North American tectonic plates.

Its situated on the lava-scarred Reykjanes peninsula. You can be in America and, a few steps further, you are in Europe. How cool is that? Its easy to get there and, very safe, not a problem for a normal car to drive there.
After that, we drive a little by the Reykjanes Peninsula, to get that feeling of being out of Planet Earth, its unbelievable.
Then, we went for one of the most famous places of Iceland, the Blue Lagoon.
Blue Lagoon- This is the perpect place to go with kids! We bought our tickets on line whit the reservation of the hour here. We went for the cheapest option, the standard, that costs ISK 6100 (close to €49 or $59 USD). They offer more options but, for our budget, it had to be that one. If you chose the same, remember to bring your own bath towel, because its not include.

You can discover all on the site we left. One cool ting for those who travel whit kids is that they don’t pay until they are 14 years old. When you do the reservation, you choose the number of adults and the children’s. You can by the tickets there but, I read that sometimes it can be full and, it’s the same price, so we prefer to buy in advance.
It’s an expensive experience but, you will be glad you expend that money, because its great and, your kids will love it too.
Keflavik- It’s a perfect way of say goodbye to Iceland and, after we leave the Blue Lagoon, we were starting to fell that it was almost over. We drove to Keflavik to have dinner. We didn’t choose anything traditional for dinner, instead we went for the KFC and, headed to our B&B close to the airport, next day was the last goodbye to a wonderful trip.
The day 8, was destinated to return to Keflavik International Airport after to eat our delicious breakfast at Blue View Bed and Breakfast, and returned the car at Thrifty and, they were excellent, noting bad to say about the car, the service and the kindness.
We sadly cath our plain and headed back to Portugal, it was the end of our family trip around Iceland...
