One day in London - Itinerary for a day with children

On our whay to Iceland, we made a one day stopover in London. It was our first time at the city and, for sure, not the last.

As we had this opportunity, we had to make the most of it and, after much research, we prepared the following itinerary which was very useful and, hopefully, can help you too to decide your day. We hope you enjoy so much has we did exploring London.

We travel in family, has you know and, although our son is 4 years old, we had to take the stroller whit us. It was the best choice, because I was a long day and we walked over 11 kms. Remember, you can take the stroller whit you in the airplane free of charge, it doesn’t count has baggage.

Let us show our Itinirary:

Morning:

We arrive at the center of the city by public transport, take the subway to the South Kensington Station (museum of natural history at 600m). Our Son is crazy about dinossaurs and, we had to start there.

The Museum of Natural History is a great museum and, its free! we spent all morning exploring the most we could and, only went out wen was time to lunch.
For lunch, we add some great fish and ships on a small restaurant in South Kensington Station.

Afternoon:
After we eat a fast lunch in the street, enjoyng people passing by, we walk to Hide Park, passin by Princess Diana Memorial Fountain. Then headed to Buckingham Palace passing through the Wellington Arch and the Constitution Hill. We arrived at Buckingham Palace and rest a little near Victoria Memorial.

After that, we headed to Westminster Abbey and saw Westminster Palace (Parliament and Big Ben) and Westminster Bridge.
Then we went to the famous 10 Downing Street  but, no sigh of the prime minister. Then headed to Trafalgar Square, seeing outside of National Gallery (right next to it).

After Trafalgar Square, we whent to St. Paul's Cathedral, passing by Convent Garden.
The last golds (but not less important) was to see the of Tower of London and Tower Bridge.

We didn’t enter the Tower of London, was allready to late but, London is such a huge and great city and, for one day, we were forced to make choices. These choices are certainly not consensual. Many of you who know London better than us will point out several sites that we should have gone instead of others. However, we were happy with what we could only see for a day, and ended the day whit a great dinner at a Chinese restaurant near the Tower of London, before taking the subway in the direction of the Hotel.

We hope this itinerary helps those planning their trip to London, as we hope for your comments, tips and suggestions.
