A road trip around the Imperial cities of Morocco in 10 days – Our itinerary (1100 Kms)

Well, I always feel bad when i don’t have a destination to go, or don’t have a planned trip. Fortunately, that’s not the situation (we talk about that in the future) but, I’m always imagining, planning, day dreaming of new adventures to go and, another day, it was Morocco.  This is what I was thinking:

Morocco  was always a “must do” destiny. But, is is very close to Portugal and, isn’t a very common destination for Portuguese tourists. Wheel, we love road trips but, whit the need of feeling safe and, all that we heard and read of Morocco lead us to wish that destination.

Morocco has a lot to offer, culture, beach, deserts, mountains but, for our first trip there, we chose a road trip that allows us to know the four imperial cities and, whit some extras. According to Wikipedia, the Morocco Imperial cities were “the capitals of the former ruling dynasties of the country”. That was our plan, to visit the 4 and, something in the whay, espetialy the El Jadida, former Mazagan and, former Portuguese citadel on the XVI Century.

Here is our plan:

First day: Fez

Our plan was to rent a car and return it on the same place (its much cheaper, the rental of the car and the airplane tickets) so, the decision for start the trip on Fez was just economic, the flight was cheaper to that destination. But you can also start from another city. There’s a lot of flights to Casablanca and Marrakech, and you can rent the car just there anyway.
